Discover the Healing Power of Nature
At WB Publisher, we celebrate the wisdom of medicinal herbs and sustainable gardening through peer-reviewed research and traditional knowledge. We currently specialize in essential but somehow unknown medicinal herbs, that nevertheless are crucial for our continued survival. Our current projects focus on two native species from our semi-tropical South. Our two books on genus Sida are essential. The big book is everything that peer-review science knows about genus Sida, meant to be the desktop reference for natural healers. Every action or benefit is paired with known traditional use, gleaned from around the world. The User's Guide... tells you how to start, to grow, to manage, and how to process Sida into crude but profound medicinals. Also gives a listing of the extensive medicinal and life giving actions and benefits [simple listing, no description, but a checklist of what Sidas want to do for you. We also offer two seeds from my herb garden that are crucial for my personal survival. The genus Sida and the genus Bidens both originated in tropical South America. They are not remotely similar as plants (weeds) but amazingly have very similar scope of action and benefits. Both work well together, are very non-toxic, highly anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and generally beneficial for your body and health.
Some praise for our books
roseattar scored Sida acuta, Sida... [the big book] 5.0 out of 5 stars Verified Purchase Get to know the Sidas, powerful plant allies for our time. Prepare a spot in your garden for Sida; after reading this book, you’re going to want to grow this plant and experiment with it for yourself. The need for an alternative to pharmaceutical antibiotics is dire and well-known. WB says that he wrote this book to spread the word: Sidas are a powerful herbal antibiotic that deserve our immediate attention. The potential uses of Sida are myriad. They are powerfully adaptogenic, and offer both protective and therapeutic effects. Their traditional use in Ayurveda is reassuring, and well-described here. Although relatively unknown in the west, the author has done a great public service by compiling all currently published information into one source, and encouraging further exploration. Sidas can be easily grown from seed, in a container or in the ground, throughout the US. A users guide is coming that will bring Sida into even more kitchen gardens. As it becomes more familiar to us, it will become a strong plant ally, helping us to get and stay healthy and resilient. I’ve got a pot ready - can’t wait to sow some seeds for myself and get to know this plant. [well said]
Brad S scores The User's Guide 5.0 out of 5 stars on Amazon Verified Purchase An excellent little book (47 pages). A book with information on how to grow, harvest & make simple medicinals from Sida Acuta.
Ronald G. Rubin scored The Bidet 5.0 out of 5 stars The tip of the iceberg... First, it's important to say this is not only a great little book, but it is a primer for our culture to shift into the 21st century. The rest of the civilized world has left the USA behind (no pun intended) by anal-lysing with a bidet, a.k.a. "comfort seat"... As a psychiatrist who reviews the nursing home admissions of patients with psychiatric illness or treatment, I can say catagorically that it is the rule, not the exception, that Grandma's UTI will present with crankiness, appetite change, sleep problems, and low energy. She WILL be seen as having an exacerbation of her depression or her dementia, and it will take several days before her UTI is discovered (if it is discovered at all). You can also be sure that the anti-depressants and/or anti-psychotics will have only limited value, and it surely will not help the infection, even if she complains less. The morbidity and mortality associated with this mis-management is extreme, and costs us pain and suffering, as well as billions of dollars each year unneccessarily. The very simple act of using this product can have more impact than wearing masks, using gloves, or washing hands.

Sidas are consumed by millions of people daily as a tea. People have been taking Sidas since time-out-of-mind for an amazing number of conditions and benefits. There has been relatively little scientific research on Sida, which is surprising since it has been used as a medicinal for thousands of years all over the tropical world. In these research studies a possible benefit is usually tested on just one variety of sida, often using only one part of the plant, perhaps employing only one means of extraction. The sidas are so widely distributed around the world and used in so many medicinal traditions that their non-English common names are legion. The main medicinal species that has been studied is Sida acuta. Sida acuta is very high in protein, being 16 percent to 25 percent protein depending on how it is grown [my variety is rated at minimum 30% protein in the leaves]. Some cultures use it as a pot herb; it is possible to use it as a primary protein source. The broad expanse of these Sida actions and benefits are completely documented in the “big book”. While only titles of Benefits and Actions are very dissatisfying, that was all that was possible in this short book, and they at least give you an idea of the range of Sidas actions. Both peer-review results and traditional uses are included – I do not differentiate between them. At least one species of Sida has been studied in each category. Usually if one Sida has a positive effect, the other medicinal species should also. I have been researching genus Bidens for the past four years (with at least another year or two) for another "big book", where both peer-review results and traditional uses are included.

Bidens protects you from pathogens
Medicinal Bidens are consumed by millions of people daily as a tea or a tincture. People have been taking Bidens since time-out-of-mind for an amazing number of conditions and benefits. There has been relatively little scientific research on Bidens, which is surprising since it has been used as a medicinal for thousands of years all over the tropical world. In these research studies a possible benefit is usually tested on just one variety of Bidens, often using only one part of the plant, perhaps employing only one means of extraction. The Bidens are so widely distributed around the world and used in so many medicinal traditions that their non-English common names are legion. The main medicinal species that has been studied is Bidens pilosa. It is loaded with vitamins and minerals. Traditoinal societies around the world use it as a pot herb. In this listing I do not differentiate between them. At least one species of Bidens has been studied in each category. Usually if one medicinal Bidens has a positive effect, the other medicinal species should also. As noted above, Sida and Bidens are very similar in the breadth and effectiveness of their actions. While using either is profoundly healthy, I take both daily for double protection from my otherwise fatal health conditions. I fully expect to have another "big book" for genus Bidens finished in another year or two, until then this is a progress report from about half of my research.
