Queen of Cantaloupes

Deanna is the queen of cantaloupes -

manifesting such gorgeous juicy fruits

from the top of our cold coastal valley

As I savor another luscious bite,

so thrilled that such fruit is even possible

in our cool mountain climate

Even more incredible is how

her melons are literally airborne

couched in a net above her garden

Totally unexpected, surreally delicious

Deanna is the queen of cantaloupes

that are the equal of melons anywhere
